Cell Phone Radiation Causes Measurable Changes In Brain Cell Minutes

Just 10 minutes of cell phone can trigger changes in brain cells linked to cell division and cancer, suggests a new study by researchers at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel and published in Biochemistry.

Previously, advocates of safety have argued that mobile phones do not cause brain damage because the microwave radiation that they emit is too low to heat the body's cells. But the new study, changes in biological processes began in the energy level even lower than that of a normal phone, even without heating in the course.

"Security is necessary [that] the health effects of mobile phones can only occur when significant heating of body tissue occurs [But] this study shows biological changes in response to radiation from mobile phones under -. Something that could have implications for health, "said Graham Philips of Powerwatch British nonprofit.

Researchers exposed both human and rat cells, the radiation frequency of 875 MHz low-level, the more frequently used in most mobile phones. The intensity of the radiation was much lower than that used by most mobile phones, however.

Even so, in 10 minutes, the researchers observed changes in the cells. chemical switch regulating cell division was switched on - a switch that is connected to a variety of cancers.

There was no direct evidence of cancer inducement in the current proceeding. However, the researchers point out that these changes have a low dose of non-thermal nature of what was said to be impossible. Thus, the study challenges the whole basis of the presumption of mobile phones' security was based.

"The importance is to demonstrate the cells do not respond to cell phone radiation is a non-thermal," said co-author Rony Seger. "We used the power of radiation were about one-tenth of those produced a normal mobile phone. The changes we found are clearly not caused by heating.

"This helps explain why mobile phone radiation has been associated with increased cancer tumors," said consumer advocate Mike Adams Health. "Until now, skeptics have said that radiation is not intense enough to cause cells to overheat, but now we learn that there may have important cellular changes that occur at much lower levels of exposure.
